Who We Are
Lizzie has been involved in nonprofits from a young age, armed with a childhood dream of changing the world. By the age of 18, she was the President of a 501(c)3 and led the organization’s annual fundraising event which set a record for amount raised in one evening. By 19, she had already traveled to both Mexico and the Dominican Republic to work on development projects.
During her time in college, she became an AmeriCorps member and worked at the local Habitat Humanity helping with them with their development event and running their development work.
During her career Lizzie has had a solid focus on the nonprofit sector and development. Lizzie has worked for nonprofit organizations of various sizes and with various missions. Over the course of her career, Lizzie has managed nonprofit events from galas, luncheons, walks, conferences, networking events, golf tournaments, a climb and a benefit concert.
For five years, she was a member and volunteer of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network, eventually becoming Board Chair in her last year.
At the age of 25, Lizzie started her own 501(c)3 called Mariposa International. The organization brought nursing students to the Dominican Republic to experience the country, culture, and work in a rural clinic. The organization also brought much needed supplies to rural areas including medical supplies, educational supplies, clothes, shoes, and toys during the holidays.
